Evaulation, what it should include

We have now finished the actual music video. We now have to continue the making of the advert and the digipack. Both the digipack and the advert need to be finished for Monday 3rd December. The percentages of overall marks for the advert is ten percent and another ten percent for the digipack.

After we have finished making both the advert and digipack. We need to start the evaluation. For the evaluation we will be doing DVD extras. There are four questions that will have to be answered in the evaluation. The questions are below here:

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. How effective is the combination of your main product (video) and ancillary tests (digipack and advert)?

3. What have you learned from your audience research?

4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

There are a range of different things that we could do to answer these questions, some of these are listed below here:

  • Before and after effects shots. Showing the rough cut compared to the final version. Before and after of effects been added.
  • 'How to' technical videos. Explaining how something was done with the editing. So for example somebody explain how the black and white effect was done on parts of the video, with the rest of the things being in colour.
  • Directory's commentary.
  • Voice-over's. Of images and videos.
  • Feedback sessions. From target audience research.
  • Green screen work. Where people are shown next to things that they are explaining.
  • Images.
We have not yet chosen what we will be doing for are evaluation, we will probably choice a couple of these things listed above. But we have not choice yet.

The finished evaluation has to finished and handed in on Monday 10th December by 4.30pm. The video can be as long as we want it to be, but we are going to try and not make the video longer than 15 minutures as otherwise we thing that it would be to long. We think that the video should be over 8 mintures as there is four  questions so that would be about two mintures per question.
